Heidi Christensen MD, CAQSM, FACEP

Dr. Heidi Christensen is board certified in Sports Medicine and Emergency Medicine. She is experienced in caring for a wide variety of non-operative musculoskeletal injuries, as well as acute medical conditions. She is a strong believer in the benefits of preventive medicine and helping her patients to achieve optimal wellness.

Dr. Christensen’s goal is to keep her patients active and healthy. She treats a wide variety of activity-related injuries and chronic musculoskeletal ailments, such as shoulder pain, knee pain, osteoarthritis, and concussion. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and strongly believes in partnering with them to create personalized treatment plans. Dr. Christensen is especially skilled in using ultrasound technology, including ultrasound-guided procedures. She offers experience with a wide variety of injection procedures, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP).

Dr. Christensen is the medical director of our Urgent Care services. She has worked as an Emergency Physician at several local hospitals, as well as at Loma Linda University Medical Center, where she was an Assistant Professor for the Emergency Medicine Residency Program. She is skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of acute medical conditions, as well as in minor procedures, such as laceration repair, abscess incision and drainage, and reduction of dislocations and simple fractures.

Dr. Christensen is a team physician for Rock Canyon High School.  As an athlete herself, she has a passion for sports, as well as giving back to her local community.  In the Fall, you can oftentimes find her on the sidelines of varsity football games.

In her free time, Dr. Christensen enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, Dr. Mark Christensen, their young son and daughter, and their dog. She is a big sports fan and loves to attend as many local sporting events as she can every year.
